PcCharge

Is no one using PcCharge as an integrated product? Does anyone know anyone that is using it? Can someone tell me if there is another form or group anywhere that is a collection of people using this product?

Sorry, I am so annoyed with the lack of support from GoSoftware/Verifone that I want to talk with someone about this. I am about to dump their product and just wanted to warn others NOT to do business with this company.

This group is mainly focused on Microsoft Retail Management System. RMS does integrate with PCCharge PRO or Payment Server, but the integration was done by Microsoft and ships as part of the RMS product. I've done several installs of RMS with Payment Server since Verifone bought Go Software, and the product still works just fine. The support for initial install and setup has been about the same as it was before, actually maybe a little better in terms of hold times. Of course, the initial setup group has it's own option on the tech support phone system, so that is no indication of developer level support. Sorry to hear about your support and integration problems, but as far as I can see, PC Charge is still a viable solution when used with RMS; that may change in a future PC Charge release, but as of

5.7.1 I haven't seen any problems.

You might want to check out TPI Systems

- they also have a payment server, and some of their people originally came over from Go Software - might make your life easier when you go looking for a replacement in your integrated system. Good Luck!

Concur with Glenn ~ TPI is the way to go...they're also the only folks that I've seen who have a product that will allow full ECC (electronic check conversion) integration with RMS.

Glenn,

Thanks for getting back to me and explaining about this forum. Since I do not use RMS it would explain some of our differences in experience. I integrated PcCharge Payment Server directly into my business software. The problem I am having is not a development issue but rather the lack of support and customer service from Verifone. They have missed the boat in a very large way and I suspect in a very short time others will see this as well.

Barbara, I feel your pain. I have had many difficulties trying to get RMS and PC Charge to integrate. I've got a need for IP Based Credit/Debit with Dial up Check Verification. I'm trying to put this in 23 multilane stores with not much luck. We have switched over to TPI but they don't have a dial out solution so I'm forced to use both TPI and RMS. Now I seem to have systems spiking CPU Cycles and rendering the POS useless for 60-120 seconds. We can't figure out why.

Glenn,

As you know I having awful issues. Verifone is so scattered right now I not sure they know what they are doing. I got back an email response for one person that no one would even be in the office this week.

I am trying to locate the correct web site address to test VITAL using TCP/IP. If anyone can help that would be awesome.

Thanks,

Barbara

Glen (or anyone that is using PcCharge),

I know this may not be the place but I thought I would give this question a shot. Have you been successfully able to implement the VerifyMerchant or VerifyProcessor functions? I have never seen them work in all the years I have been using the product.

Any ideas from anyone would be great.

Hello, the previous company I worked at had PC Charge implemented there. Let me just say I think PC Charge is a very poor product. I would recommend everyone to stay away from it at all costs. There are many bugs in the program and as you may have already found out the support is horrible. I was helping that company migrate from tha product over to something else.

If you have high speed internet, the credit card processing built into POS is the way to go. You have to have RMS 1.2 SP2 or higher to have that functionality. In my opinion it works very good and I would never go back to PC Charge. Too much pain and grief from using that software
