Release 3 of QuickBooks 2006 for Windows - All Editions

This document summarizes changes and improvements made in Release 3 of all editions of

QuickBooks 2006 for Windows. Release 3 includes all changes that have been made to your

QuickBooks 2006 software since it was first released.

Installing Release 3

To update your QuickBooks program with the Release 3 changes, close QuickBooks and

reopen QuickBooks. At the prompt to install the update now, answer "Yes." The update

Installing Release 3 in a Multi-User Environment

If you use QuickBooks in multi-user mode, Intuit strongly recommends installing the product

release on each computer using QuickBooks. After downloading the product release to your

specified shared file location, you will be prompted when you open QuickBooks to install on

each computer that shares the data file. For more information on sharing updates in a multi

this fixed an issue for us with accessing any database > 20MB (i estimate based on my experiences so far) across a network. It wasn't being used in multi-user mode, just stored on a file server for ease of backup and access. Nobody could do anything without a crash, so we had to move those DBs to a local machine & access it only from there.

since installing R3, that's fixed & it's now back on the network.

i just download the manual update from inuit and install on each machine.
