I noticed today that the R6 patch for QB 2006 is available.

sure how long it has been available since Intuit doesn'tbother dating their update pages. I installed it today, and other than my XP Pro system locking up on shutdown during the post-install restart, everything seems to be working okay. Updated a few company data files without problem.

Here's the items listed as R6 fixes:

- QuickBooks will now correctly update dates on budgets and forecasts.

- Improvements that address issues reported by a small number of QuickBooks

2006 users (sometimes indicated by the program exiting with an unrecoverable error, reporting damage to transactions in the QBWIN.LOG file, or otherwise exhibiting unexpected results during normal program use.) R6 identifies and fixes any existing issues and prevents future issues.

- Improved performance in key areas of QuickBooks 2006 Pro and Premier, including running reports and opening company files.

- QuickBooks will now display a progress monitor during company file updates.

- QuickBooks no longer displays the error message "This data file cannot be used because it was not completely updated. Please restore your backup" if another user logs in while a company file is being updated.
