Question about User Controls in QB Enterprise 8

Hi --

My company is looking into new accounting software and QuickBooks has been recommended to us by a few people. However, my last experience with QuickBooks was that data could be easily changed. We want to keep an audit trail for any changes made once data is originally entered. What I mean by that is, currently a user will enter a group of transactions, print out an "edit list" to check his or her work and then make appropriate corrections before "posting" the data and making it part of the permanant history. Once the work has been "posted" it can't be editted.

How does QB Enterprise 8 handle this kind of thing? What controls can be put in place to prevent users from changing or deleting data, and, conversely, what controls can be put in place to allow a higher level staffer to modify data?

Thanks

Rich

If your company wishes to continue with this type of control then look elsewhere. QuickBooks is not for you.
