Quick Books for Start Ups?

I am starting a new business (two-person medical office) - would QuickBooks be a good, basic program for me or is it overkill?

Overkill, absolutely not. As the back office software product QB is an excellent choice. By a back office product I mean that QB should be used to track all your expenditures and cash receipts.

Naturally you will also need a front office medical application that will handle billings, third party receipts and appointments etc. This application does not have to intergrate with QB and even if it does, most users would opt not to.
