Can QB2004 open backups from 2005?

I need to look at some accounts. The current application is in QB2005. I'm using QB2004 locally. Can I restore a QB2005 backup locally to look at the accounts?

The Canadian edition of QB 2004 can open files that have been used with QB 2005. Apparently that's not true with other country versions.
