Does QuickBooks support OLEAutomation?
I have to provide an expession of interest on a simple application that extracts phonebook/contacts from QuickBooks, Excel, Access, SQL Server & Outlook.
Can I open the QuickBooks datasource directly via ODBC?
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Purchase an ODBC driver from a third party. Try Googling an expession of ODBC and Quickbooks

If you are familiar with VBA, download the Quickbooks SDK from Intuit's Developer site. With that, you can retrieve almost anything directly from the Quickbooks company file.

What versions of QuickBooks does the V4 SDK support?

QB 2003 (and newer) Pro (and higher). Basically, just the standard QB is not supported.
