I am currently using 2007 Wholesale edition and will soon be upgrading (probably to 2010) to avoid nasty support surprises. Is there any reason I shouldn't just buy the accountant's edition rather than the wholesale? I could save $100+.
On another note, Intuit has purchased PayCycle, a fine payroll service. Let's hope they don't screw it up.

If you get the Premier accountant's edition, you can "toggle" to the wholesale version if there is a special feature you need. The WE has slightly different menus but everything found under the Mfg & Whsle menu can be found under the Customer or Vendor menus. It is mostly reports that come with the Industry specific editions. Memorize them before you upgrade and you won't even need to toggle to the Wholesale edition for them.
When 2010 comes out in the fall, check the Intuit site for their product comparison to see if you even need the wholesale version. Pro might be all that you need.
