09 question

The option to Hide accounts only grays out the final total as opposed to actually hiding the entire account as it used to in order to make for a cleaner page. Anyone know a way around this? TIA

Rich:

When I go to customize in Q2009 H&B, I am presented with 3 options, instead of just 2 in previous versions:

1) Hide this account in Quicken 2) Hide this account in Account Bar 3) Don't include this account in net worth total

Are you not being offered the first 2 options?

Bob ~ I get the three options and check them all. The name of the account is just as "alive" as any other, just the totals (all total zero as I closed them) are grayed. Very perplexing.

I just checked my hidden accounts. When I click option 1), all three boxes become checked, the 2nd and 3rd boxes being grayed. The account appears and disappears as it should. In Q2008 the account became italicized, but I had to exit and re-enter for it to disappear. Don't know why yours is not behaving properly. Hate to say this, but maybe an uninstall and reinstall might reset the behavior to what it should be. Good luck! Bob

In the lower left corner of the Account List is a box labelled, "Show hidden accounts": make sure that box is unchecked.

[It's the Q2009 equivalent of the "Option" in previous versions to "View hidden accounts".]

Well..... that did it. I originally saw that and figured (can't bring myself to admit I "assumed") it meant show/hide in the list that appeared when I clicked on "Accounts". John & Bob, thank you for your assistance. I now have a red mark on my forehead from hitting it with the palm of my hand whilst uttering "duh".
