already registered...

My software is already registered, and I reinstalled the software after installing a new hard drive. How do I shut off the register window permanently while I do a download?....Thanx

The best way I know of is to register again. Intuit doesn't care how many times you register. It's not like activation in the Microsoft world where there's a finite number of times to do it.

You can also put in bogus information. It might be interesting to see how many times Mickey Mouse or Saddam Housein have registered... ;-)

If you hold down the control and shift keys as you choose Online / One Step Update, it will no longer prompt you for registration. I've had the same problem and found this on the Quicken user forums recently.

I believe this may curtail some of the online functionality, but I may have misunderstood the suggestions on the Quicken Forum.

If you've never registered, it may interfere with online functionality. I registered when I bought and/or upgraded Quicken. Then there are times when I get a new computer, reformat my drive, etc. (ok, I'm a computer geek), and I don't want to go through the registration thing again when I reload the software. I've used the ctrl-shift technique to bypass the registration and the online functionality seems to work fine for me.
