ATM Withdrawals and Cash Expenditures

I'm tracking all my cash expenditures in Quicken. When I withdraw money from my ATM, it appears as a deduction from my savings account when I do online updates with my bank -- perfect.

But what I'd like is to have it automatically add that withdrawal amount into my "cash expenditures" account as an addition / deposit / transfer; right now, I have to do that manually. Is there a way to tell Quicken to move ATM withdrawals into my cash expeditures account, or do I just have to remember to do this manually?

In the category field of the ATM withdrawal transaction, enter the name of your Quicken cash account in square brackets (or choose your Quicken cash account from the Category drop down field).

You may need to put in a Naming rule so that these transactions get translated to a unique Payee name. Assign a category for that Payee name. Next time a cash withdrawal comes through Q will remember the Payee name and category. Review the Memorized Payee List and make sure there is only one transaction for that payee.

Brilliant... that works. Thanks!
