For years I balanced our accounts in Q. recently my wife decided she could do it. Last statement was off on the opening balance...The difference is not a single transaction. Everything before it is reconciled.
I don't even know where to start looking. Suggestions on the best way to do this?

Pull out the old bank statements and confirm the balances match in the reconciled periods. Then work your way forward in time until you find the time frame that is no longer in synch with the bank.
I had this happen to me several times in the past 2 months. Downloaded transactions were not posting in Q correctly if I used the "Accept all" button (was in a hurry, I guess). Now I check each transaction and accept/edit them one at a time.
