Browser selection

IE seems to be the default browser. Is there a way to change the browser that Q2005 uses. I'm a mozilla user and prefer never to use IE.

Not according to the help file. It says Quicken requires IE6.

No. But IE does not have to be YOUR default browser. It only has to be on your system so that Quicken can use it for functions that Intuit was to lazy to code by themselves.

Mozilla is my default. Thx anyway. Ken

Or, alternatively, they were smart and to be commended for using Microsoft-provided code for functions that they, in turn, need not worry about maintaining or keeping in sync with other platform-dependent functions. It's called 're-use', a rather common approach in today's development environment. "Why reinvent the wheel?" was an older expression. I'd rather have them working on something new...

Fair enough...

Because when I keep the IE security settings on high to protect my system against the well known security holes in IE those same security settings interfere with the operation of those Quicken functions that use IE even when it is not doing anything on the Web.

Vic - I was slightly pulling your leg on this one. Trust me, Longhorn next year will solve all your problems.

No one should worry about solving Vic's problems; he's a permanent incompetent whiner. Let him enjoy his problems; he'd be much worse off without them.
