Clone a Paycheck -- Quicken H&B 2004

I get paid twice a month. However, there is one item that only occurs on the month-end paycheck. I have setup a paycheck entry for once a month on the 15th. I would like to clone that to create a month end paycheck with one additional item. Is that possible or do I have to setup another paycheck entry from scratch?

Sure. You'll have to give it a unique name.

Your reports will show them as different Payees, but you can go back after the x'actions are posted & change the name of the Payee (only 12 changes, so probably not that big of a deal.) If you use Classes, you should be able to assign the same one to both paycheck instances.

I have to edit just about every paycheck & don't find it to be that bothersome.

I think you missed the point of my question which was:

I know I can setup another >Sure. You'll have to give it a unique name.

You will need to set it up from scratch. You will need a slightly different name for your employer. For this reason, I deleted my Paycheck Form and just used regular memorized transactions (which is what you did before there was a paycheck wizard).

The only time Quicken will force you to have a unique paycheck name is on the second dialog box in the New paycheck setup. Once you get to the Paycheck "Form", where the paycheck ("company") name appears at the top of the form and you enter things like Gross Salary and deductions, you can change the paycheck name to any name you like.

And if you created a second paycheck for the same company, but gave it a different name, you can "Edit" the paycheck and modify its name to be the same as any other paycheck.

Thanks for the info. I will give it a try. The Paycheck form is easier to read.

But the question was can I clone a paycheck setup to create another one?

Most of the time you can copy any transaction any create a new one from the copy. The problem is I can't seem to find a way to copy, paste and then schedule a paycheck transaction. Is there a way to do that and if so how?
