I have a credit card I've had for awhile, but it was only a few months ago they started offering the ability to download into Quicken. The problem is, they only offer the monthly statement. Whenever I try to do an auto-reconcile, it doesn't match up and wants to balance by the amount of the statement.
Is there any workaround? I have to basically cancel the reconcile, then manually tag items as "R". Or I'll have to give up and go back to manually doing it.

There's no requirement that you reconcile to an online balance, just because you're downloading to the account.
If you manually initiate a reconcile in the account, the first dialog box you get should give you the choice to reconcile to a paper statement.
When you initially switch from reconciling to an online balance, to reconciling to a paper statement, you will get a warning ... the warning is basically telling you that you may have to do some manual un-reconciling to get the account so it is only reconciled through the most recent printed statement. Once you've done that successfully, you should be good to go.
