dividends?

I am using Quicken Basic 2007 in Vista. I started a Scottrade online account not long ago and it has been downloading into Quicken and balancing against Scottrade daily just fine until now. I received a dividend from Diageo for $49.38 on the 17th in Scottrade which is exactly what my balance is off in Quicken. How does Quicken handle dividends? Should I just manually enter it in the stock register? Does anyone here have a scottrade account and use QB 2007 with it? I am all new at this so please explain in easy terms. TIA Paula

Quicken handles dividends properly. The downloaded transactions may be incorrect, but they should be easy to correct.

Did you receive the dividend in cash? or was it reinvested?

Either way, simply enter (or edit) the transaction to reflect what really happened.
