Downloading Quotes: Proper Symbol for a REIT?

May 10, 2005 1 Replies

I am using the Canadian version of Quicken. (Quicken XG 2004)

I am trying to figure out what I should enter as a symbol for a REIT that I own. The REIT is called:

InnVest Real Estate Investment Trust, Subordinated Unsecured Convertible Debenture, Due Apr 15 2011 6.250%

The real world symbol for this security is "INN.DB.A-T" - that is INN = InnVest REIT .DB = Debenture .A = Series A

-T = Listed on Toronto (TSX) Exchange

I have tried entering the symbol as follows in Quicken: INN.DB.A INN.DB-A INN.DBA None of them work - I get "not found" error message. I can't use INN.DB as that refers to another debenture issued by the company.

Any suggestions?

It's not a REIT you own. It's just a bond that happens to be issued by a REIT. I'm not sure about the Canadian version of Quicken, but the US has quotes supplied by S&P Comstock and I'm fairly sure they don't supply bond values.
