E-file rebate

If you submitted a request for the $14.95 E-file rebate, check it's status on the Intuit site. Mine said they received it but payment is pending more paperwork, but they don't say what they need. The office is closed during the weekend and there is no list of requirements anywhere on the site.

Now, if I hadn't checked, it would just sit there. After awhile, they would close it for lack of compliance and I'd be out the money!

And, what happened to the rebate they used to have for E-filing the state (MA) return?

I agree! I checked mine (some time ago) and the web site said it had been mailed and to wait 15 days for receipt. After a month and still no check, I figured I was out the money. After sending them an email, they said they will cancel the check and issue a new one. Should come soon if they did indeed issue a new check.

Don't know about MA but I don't recall ever getting one for CA.

When I had checked on mine, it said that they were waiting for the additional paperwork to be received. I emailed them asking how long it usually took (it had been over 3 weeks) and should I resend.

The next day they emailed saying that they were depositing my check .. no reference to my email .. just as if it magically occurred on its own ..

I called Intuit on the phone and asked what was missing from my rebate request. The guy said he would take care of it (nothing more needed!). I received an email with a link and an "authorization number". They took in my account number and said they would pass the $14.95 to me within 10 more days.

It would be interesting to see how much they had to pay the guy that I talked to for the time he spent, the time to process my original submission, the marketing expenses with Staples and ads in the newspapers. I'll be it cost more than $14.95.

Probably so - but what about the myriads of people that buy the product and never go thru, or perhaps try but get caught up in some minor problem and invalidate their attempt, to get the rebate? Probably worth a lot more to them to hook those that they never have to pay rather than the small amount of persistent folks like you!
