How do I create a 401k account?

Jan 16, 2007 1 Replies

When I try to create a new investment account (using Quicken Basic 2006), my only investment choices are Brokerage, IRA or Keogh, and Single Mutual Fund. How do I create a 401k retirement or a SEP IRA retirement? I know you can do it because I used to have a 401k account and I still have a SEP IRA account. Thanks,

-Jeff

QW Basic does not include the 401k account type - never has. The 401k account is included in Deluxe & higher versions.

You can create a tax-deferred brokerage account to track a 401k but you will not have some of QW's 'automated' updating/tracking features. I tracked my 401k in this manner.

Basic does include the IRA accoutn type - not familiar with the SEP IRA

- is it significantly different from an IRA?
