How do I move all transactions from on brokerage acct to another?

I'm stuck.

A while back, my brokerage (we'll call it "ATrade") got bought out by another (call it "BTrade"). I was still able to download transactions using the old ATrade account (in Q2006, by the way) for a while. Then, earlier this year, I stopped getting new transactions.

I tried to Edit Account to change the transaction download to BTrade, but there was no place to do that.

Instead, I created a new account for BTrade, and it connected right up and downloaded all of my transactions starting from when the old one stopped. Okay... fine. Now, however, so that I still retain all of my cost bases for all of my various lots, etc., I'd like to migrate all of the transactions from the old ATrade account to the new BTrade account.

How?

The way to do this is to deactivate the account for download, change the financial institution name, then re-activate the account for download.

You don't need to migrate all the transactions in order to retain the original cost basis: use the Quicken "Shares Transferred Between Accounts" transaction to transfer your "holdings" to the new account.

[If you had to move all the transactions from one Quicken account to another, your only choices would be manually (well, theoretically, you could use copy/paste ... one transaction at a time), or exporting from the old account to a QIF file and importing the QIF file to the new account.]
