How to change Cash Amount and Cash Balance in Q2008 Investment Acct?

Hello,

I have a problem with Cash Balance and Cash Amount in Quicken 2008 Deluxe Investment Account. I imported data from my TIAA-CREF investment account; all the numbers imported correctly and are shown in the "Investment Amount" but the program shows me negative Cash Amount for each transaction and negative Cash Balance. Why it is doing this instead of just adding the numbers with the "+" sign?

I searched this Newsgroup and found that changing of the transaction type from "Buy-Shares Bought" to "Add-Shares Added" might help. I did this and the "Cash Amount" became positive and equal to "Investment Amount" but the "Cash Balance" is now zero.

How to force this program to do the seemingly simple things, such as JUST ADD numbers?

Thanks in advance, Andrei (long comments about how bad is Quicken are deleted)
