Investment account placeholders

Aug 21, 2010 2 Replies

Quicken has generated a placeholder for a negative .00045 shares. I can't enter a negative transaction and reducing the prior transaction for this amount rounds back to .1.

How can I get rid of this?

If you can see the placeholder, you should be able to delete it. Placeholders have an "Action" value of "Entry".

Ususally, Quicken asks you if you want placeholder (Adjust Share Balance) transactions entered, and you can just say no.

I'm not following the rest of your explanation. But a Remove Shares transaction would reduce the number of shares owned. I would delete the placeholder first.
