Investment name change

Nov 13, 2006 1 Replies

I have Quicken 2007. Several mutual funds I have changed their name over the course of a few years. I would like to make them all have the same name. How do i do this? If I try a "corporate name change" under Transactions, Quicken comes back saying you can not change the name since there is already an investment with that name.

An suggestions as to how to get around this?

Thanks

Why do you want different mutual funds to have the same name?

Regardless, you do have a few options:

  1. Edit the name of the security in the Security List
  2. Do a SharesOut/SharesIn transaction to transfer from the old name to the new name.
  3. Delete the original transaction, and enter a new one with the name you want.
