Qkn 2007 deluxe. I need to move stocks from independent entries to a brokerage. Can't use .qfx files any more any one know how I can do it?

Use the "Shares transferred between accounts" transaction.

[And I think you meant to say that you can't use "qif" files anymore ... but you can, if you really need to.]

I notice that when you do use the move stocks all the dates on the entries change to todays date. Not a good thing if you're going to do research.

Yes, I did mean qif files. OK, I'll bite how do you use them in qd

2007?

Not sure what "research" you are thinking of, but I don't know of any problem with the dates.

Chances are, you are looking at the "transaction" date; which is really correct. If you transferred your securities from Brokerage A to Brokerage B on December 1, 2007 ... that's the date the transaction(s) should have. You may have owned the securities before that ... but not in the Brokerage B account. Remember, the "transfer" shares process does not remove transactions from the old account ... prior to the transfer date, your holdings will all appear in the old account.

But if you "Edit" the Add Shares transaction(s) in the new account, you'll see that each lot was transferred from the old account with its correct "Acquisition" date ... good for computing things like holding period for capital gains.
