Persistent corrupted portfolio number

Suddenly I'm getting one number in my Portfolio which is whacked. In the Day Change column for one name, instead of a numerical percentage I'm getting -1.#J%. If I change the price of the name from .125 to a higher number, such as 1, I get the same string but without the negative leader, and it's no longer in red.

I've validated the file, defragged and done a ChkDisk, rebooted, but it's still there. I guess something's corrupted, but how does one get to it?

Thanks, Paul

You could try renaming your price history file; that file can get corrupted and Validate will not find corruption in the price history file.

Rename QDATA.QPH (where QDATA is the name of your Quicken data). When you next start Quicken, it will create a new, empty, price history. You can fill in missing history by: Qucken's historical price download; Yahoo's (and others') .csv file downloads ... and manual entry.

If renaming does not solve the problem, you can just rename the old .qph file back.

Thanks, John. On opening the program today, with no change since yesterday, the computer being in standby overnight, the problem is gone. I'll hold onto your suggestion though, for a possible next time.

Thanks again, Paul
