I don't quite see Intuit breaking down the door to your home to prosecute you for running a legally obtained copy of Quicken on 2 computers.

Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, you are granted a limited non-exclusive license to use a copy of the enclosed Software on one (1) computer used by a single household. You may make one (1) backup copy of the Software for your own use. You may transfer your rights in the Software to a third party, or sell the computer on which the Software is installed to a third party (collectively "Subsequent Licensee"), provided you do not keep a copy of the Software for yourself and you or the Subsequent Licensee obtain a copy of a Transfer Agreement from Intuit, which will allow the Subsequent Licensee to assume your rights as a Licensee of the Software.

Actually, Intuit really likes you to give away copies of Quicken. The believe people will use it, like it and order the next upgrade. That strategy seems to work for them. (I started with Q 2.0 for DOS and have bought every upgrade since.)

That's why they keep issuing upgrades that look different, but don't do much different. It's the same as cars.

Guys,

If Intuit wanted us to give this stuff away, why would they bother at all with a EULA with such a restriction?

IAC, I'm not worrying about it... but bring it up as I thought it was a change from the EULA in Q2005.

I just got home and checked Q05 and found it was the same as Q06.

False alarm.

I must have been thinking of the TTax EULA which allows multiple installations in computers one owns.

This is not legally definitive, but it has been posted quite a few times in the Quicken forums hosted by Intuit, that users can install Quicken on multiple machines ... to my knowledge, Intuit has never corrected that statement.
