Quicken 2005 Deluxe Add Account problem

Sep 06, 2005 4 Replies

Hello Group

I have just installed Q Deluxe 2005 and am in the process of setting it up. One of the first items is to add accounts. On that 1st set up screen I click online to let Quicken set it up. On the second secrrn Quicken says to use the sami account number I log on with which I do. Then when I simply click on the PIN box to fill it in the whole program disappears - not just the setup box!!

Anyone else seen this kind of problem??

Having purchased the product I now find that if I want support from Intuit, I have to pay more than I paid for the software. A nice scam for Intuit.

TIA for any help.

Have you downloaded the latest release from the manual update site? Or, did you update to the latest release using one-step update?

If you hadn't brought this up, my post would have contained some things you could try. Now I feel compelled to point out a few things to you.

a) If the Intuit Support cost of $24.95 cost more than you paid for the product, you didn't pay Intuit's retail price. So you do get a good deal.

b) Installation support always have been free.

c) Intuit only charge if the probem is not due to a bug/defect in the software. Ie. If it is a genuine defect you would not have paid.

d) If it is not a defect, but user error, you still only pay if they resolve the issue to your satisfaction. If it is not resolved, you don't pay.

So how is that for a scam?

Go fry. I'm not helping you.

It is either very difficult or I was not smart enough to figure out how to get their installation support. But to answer your question - they could make it easy to get that support. I still haven't figured out how but have determined that a spyware detection was causing interference.

Thanks for the response Margaret. I found an incompatibility with Spyware Doctor which solvedx the worst part of the problem. But I have never been an Intuit lover and thinik they ought to make email support available and easy to find.
