Add new credit card account to PIN vault?

Using Quicken 2006 Basic here.

I have added an additional credit card account to my Cash Flow bar. Now I want to set it up to automatically download transactions, as I have with three other credit card accounts. The first three are set up in the PIN vault. Now I want to add the new account. However, I see no option to "add new" to the PIN vault.

Do I really have to delete it and add those other accounts all over again, just to add another?

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance,

Have you set up the account for online access? Last time I added an account it was automatically added to my pin vault once I had enabled the online access.

Hi Mark,

I use the Premier version, but would think the same should apply to Basic. The "Add" button should be available in the PIN Vault after you set-up the new account for online activity.

Good Luck

The new credit card account is an Amazon.com visa card with Chase bank. I have set it up for online access -- at least I can access the account outside of Quicken through a browser.

However, within Quicken, in Account Details | Online Services tab, it says "Transaction download is not available."

Guess that means that Chase doesn't provide that service, huh? I thought they were one of the biggest credit card vendors. Can that be true?

While you may have set the card up for online access with Chase, you must set up the account within quicken for online access. Once you do so, the account will appear in the pin vault.

You may do this by:

1) Click on the accounts icon 2) Right click on the account you wish to set up for online access 3) Left click on Edit 4) Click on the Online Services tab. 5) Click on the Activate button 6) Follow the prompts.

You must have the correct Financial Institution named in the Quicken fi field. It must be the *exact* financial institution name that your fi requires.

Have you checked your Online> Participating Financial Institutions List?

Why in the world aren't you asking Chase?

Have you tried to activate it in quicken?

According to the intuit site Chase does provide that service. I would try activating it to see what happens. You may have to call chase to enable downloads first.

Resolved. Thanks everyone.

For the record:

I had entered "Chase Bank" rather than "Chase", for starters, in Quicken.

Then, I needed to log on to Chase outside of Quicken, and navigate to find a link to "activate for online access." Having done that, everything worked.

The good news: after getting "Chase" right, but rejecting my login, I did get the toll-free Chase phone number while in Quicken. After waiting, getting disconnected, and calling back next day, Chase's person transferred me to a software specialist who quickly guided me to the right answer.
