Quicken 2012

Quicken.com does not have any info that I could find. But amazon.com is accepting pre-orders for delivery on October 1-4. You can also read about new and improved features. For Quicken Premier:

I see that the budgeting feature has been updated. I also see a "large font mode."

I just did my pre-order for Premier. I couldn't help it.

I always buy the latest and greatest. I use Quicken multiple times a day, and if I had to go back to another system (like Excel), it would be a disaster. I think of it as my little way help of helping Intuit maintain a positive cash flow for a product I enjoy using, warts and all. No need to apologize.

I placed my pre-order yesterday too. I feel the same as you, Andrew. But this year I ordered deluxe instead of premiere, as I don't use the extra features.

I'm looking forward to checking out the new version on 10/04. :-)

Margaret

Is Quicken being sold in the UK again?!

One new feature in Q2012 - available only in Premier and up - is the ability to download currency exchange rates.

I had Premier for some editions, but last year I too got Deluxe and will do that again.

Thanks for posting this, John. When Premiere first became available, I started buying that every year. Having to have the latest and greatest, I guess I was afraid there *might* be a feature I'd miss otherwise. When I first saw your post, I thought, "Oh no! I'd better cancel my pre-order for Deluxe and place a new one for Premiere."

But then I continued reading and saw "currency exchange rates" and realize I fortunately don't need that feature in Quicken. Phew! ;-) I guess I subconsciously still harbor some fear I might miss something Quicken has to offer. ;-)

No response, but I can see that Amazon UK is selling versions of 'Lexware Quicken', though the version at the lower end of the range is referred to as "Quicken 2012 PC (Vers.19.00)", priced at around £40.

(I know that Lexware had a license from Intuit to sell Quicken in Germany some time ago.)

More expensive versions shown on Amazon UK are:

"Quicken 2012 Deluxe PC (Vers.19.00) [Import germany]" £60 "Lexware Vollversion Quicken Home & Business 2012 v19.00" £80

which presumably correspond to the 1st and 3rd levels shown at:

(Deluxe, premier, Home & Business, Rental Property Manager)

Of the latter, the minimum 'Deluxe' version would suffice for me, but the $64 question is: What is in (or rather, *not* in) the Amazon UK version at £40, which doesn't seem to have an equivalent in that list?

Could anyone here throw some light on this, please?

Many thanks!

You'll need this feature when you starting moving all your cash into Euros and Yuans when our dollar goes down the tubes.....keep it mind at that point.

The Euro is far closer to collapse than either the Canadian or the U.S. dollar.

Nah, the Germans will never let that happen - if they do, go out and use DMs when they bail out! :-)
