Quicken Deluxe 2010 ready for prime time?

So what's the verdict on QD 2010 now that it's been out for a few months? Is it stable and relatively problem free? The reviews at Amazon are pretty sad . . .

My finances are pretty simple and straight-forward. I don't do online banking nor do I have lots of investment accounts.

I have QD 2006 running on WinXP Pro SP3 which works fine for me but I'm planning to upgrade to Win 7 soon and I was thinking that QD 2010 would make a good Christmas present for someone to give me. :)

Thanks for your thoughts.

My vote is that it is very stable, but little (if any!) meaningfully new content provided that Q2009 had. I always update every year, but this time probably should not have bothered. Not ONE thing I've found new that is of importance to me. YMMV.

The only reason I upgrade is because I think Quicken stops supporting downloads from FIs after 2-3 years. I have Q 2008. Do I have another year before I am forced to upgrade?

I upgraded from Q2007 since transaction downloads for that will end next spring. The user interface changes between 2007 and 2010 are major. Some of them I like, the rest I'm neutral about. Very little that I'm unhappy with and that is probably not worth explaining.

I'd say to go for it. Just be prepared to see some things changed and rather than fight them, go with the flow. Very quickly you'll be used to the changes.
