Quicken XG 2005 - Stock issue

Sep 11, 2005 1 Replies

Hi,

I am using Quicken XG 2005. I have an issue with one of my stocks. I have x many stocks from Company A. I have had this for approx. 2 1 to 2 yrs.

So, I have stock for Company A - ticker symbol: abc

Now, this company is issuing 2 kinds of stocks:

1 - for Canadians
2 - for non-Canadians

For the Canadian stocks, what is happening to me is the following: I originally have: x many "Company A" stocks.

Now (according to my broker): on Sept 1, I have -x many "Company A" stocks on Sept 1, I have +x many "Company A Voting" stocks

How do I do this in Quicken. Apparently, Quicken doesn't like having more than 1 investment with the same ticker symbol.

I could easily, just rename the Investment, but I would like to capture the original "company/stock name" and the new "company/stock name" as different transactions.

How would I go about doing that?

Thanks
