Same security, different names

I am using Quicken XG 2006.

My husband is buying shares in a company that I have already own shares in. Quicken insists on naming the stock as one of mine, rather than the individualized name I prefer for his investments. I have used the same ticker symbol for the stocks. My naming system is like this:

B.Telus (for mine) R.Telus (for my husband)

When I enter his purchase, I have created a new security and named it R. Telus. But as soon as I press Enter to complete the transaction, the name of the security reverts to B.Telus.

I've worked around this by slightly differing the ticker symbol, which means I have to individually enter prices in my portfolio list.

These problems seem to have arisen after my upgrade from Quicken 2000 to Quicken XG 2006. Is there something obvious that I have missed?

Thanks for any ideas Bev

OK - I just tried this again - assigning the ticker symbol to my husband's stock purchase - and it worked properly!! I don't understand at all, but I'm grateful that things are in order again. Guess I must have needed to air my frustration!!!
