Equity name changes

I have shares in Medtronic in my Fidelity investment account in Quicken. I called that stock "Medtronic" and used stock symbol "MDT" and Quicken tracks it just fine.

For years I also had a few shares of Medtronic in a different (Equiserve) investment account that I also tracked in Quicken. I called that stock "Medtronic04" and used stock symbol "MDT" and Quicken tracked it just fine too.

Two different investment accounts, same stock, different names, but same symbols

I have closed the Equiserve investment account and had all the shares of MDT transferred to Fidelity.

But............I now have a stock named Medtronic and one named Medtronic04. Since they are the same stocks I'd like to carry them all under one name: Medtronic. But, I am unable to change the name of the Medtronic04 shares to Medtronic. Quicken tells me that I am already using the name Medtronic and to pick another.

Does anyone know a way that I can rename the Medtronic04 stock to Medtronic?

Of course both the Medtronic and Medtronic04 stocks have multiple records due to dividend reinvestment and all of those need changed too.

Is the only way to do this to enter all the Medtronic04 transactions manually as Medtronic?

Any help would be appreciated.

Seem to recall that others have suggested a 'Corporate Acquisition' transaction can be used to combine the securities.
