I've never tried (or even heard of) the technique suggested by poster Jetpi - so I have no reason to question it.

But I have had the problem of this discussion more than once before (though it has not occurred now for a very long time).

The underlying problem is that Quicken has lost track of where, on the screen, it is supposed to be. Quicken is (obviously) running but its window is positioned off-screen. And contrary to a previous claim in this discussion, there is no evidence that this is a Quicken bug: Quicken saves it's screen position in a Windows file; it anything interferes with Quicken saving its screen position, Quicken may start off-screen.

To get the Quicken application (or, I believe, any other Windows application) back "on-screen":

- hold down the SHIFT key while right-clicking the application icon in the Windows taskbar

- left-click on "Move" (which should turn the regular Windows cursor into the Windows Move cursor, which looks like a cross with arrowheads at each end)

- use the up/down and left/right cursor keys to "move" the Quicken window back on-screen (when I had this problem, Quicken was always off-screen to the bottom, so using the just the up-cursor key always brought Quicken back on-screen - YMMV).

- Once the Quicken window is visible on-screen, press Enter to get out of Move mode - the cursor should return to normal.

- At that point, the Quicken window can be moved and sized normally.

[NOTE: the Move option is only available for windows that are "restored". Even though - in this situation - you can not see the Quicken window, that window still has a status of "restored" or "not restored". If the Move option is grayed out when holding down SHIFT and right-clicking, just click "Restore", then hold down SHIFT and right-click again - the Move option should no longer be grayed out (and the Restore option should be grayed out.]

I do not know what specifically causes Quicken to lose track of its Windows screen location; but whenever I had the problem of this discussion, correcting it by using the Move feature caused Quicken to retain the Quicken window screen position (at least until whatever caused the original problem recurred), and the Restore feature worked as it normally does. I did not have to leave the Quicken window Maximized.

Thank you for this. My Quicken wouldn't appear on any screen but holding shift and right clicking the Quicken on the taskbar allowed me to "maximize" it. Many thanks!!!
