Because some (may I be blunt) inconsiderate jerk is spamming the group....note using different names on the posts to conceal the identity and use of easy rules.
How to avoid? (a) have the group be turned into a moderated group which we've never done, (b) or use a local rule to ignore these in whatever newsreader you have, or (c, and maybe the easiest) simply live with it.
I will say as one of the oldest members in this group that things are WAY better than they were in the good 'ole days (1990s...) in this regard.
