TT - 1099-B and Missing Cost Basis

running TurboTax and have a headache regarding Imported 1099-B...

Instead of manually typing the various 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, and 1099-B info from Fidelity, Vanguard, and Schwab - I used the Import from Financial Institution. All seems good, except for some missing cost basis for a couple Schwab stocks.

A couple of my 1099-B transactions from Schwab don't have a cost basis, as it appears they only go back to 1995.... my stocks were bought in

1984...

I could easily just "override" the entry for the Cost Basis, but was trying to follow the variouos Forms and various cells.

Sched D -> Form 8949 -> Form 4952 -> Imported Broker ->

except 8949 doesn't really point to a specific "data source", so no specific place to "go to".... like the Imported 1099-B

It looks like I should have a Imported Broker Transactions Form, but don't have one for Schwab and the missing info.

Just wondering what others might be seeing with the Missing Cost Basis scenario ???

Loading thread data ...

If you View Forms, the Imported 1099-B transactions should be down at the bottom. I think the Interview mode may handle filling in missing cost bases and purchase dates too, but I didn't give it a chance since I've used the Forms mode for this before.

------------ I am showing the Imported 1099-B Form - but only for a single entry on my Fidelity missing "date".

There is none for the Imported Schwab missing "cost basis" entries, which is why I was just going to manually override and enter the data - like I would if I was typing...

On the "Imported Data" summary screen - there are only two 1099-B's along with the 1099-DIVs One is for Schwab, and one is for Fidelity... and only the Fidelity has the "Imported 1099-B" listed at the bottom of the "View Forms".

I think I got it -

I'll have to check, but it appears that the Imported Broker Transaction Worksheet is a single entity - BUT - it has multiple sets of data that you can see via the right side vertical scroll bar.

I was looking for a form for each Company or Transaction, and didn't notice the vertical scroll bar on my dim laptop screen.

tnx -
