Tuition and Fees Deduction - what Quicken tax category to use?

Anyone have any ideas? I didn't see a good location to create a tax line assignment for tuition that should be eligible for the 'tuition and fees' deduction/ It comes off on the 1040 directly, and the schools generally provide a 1099-T form, but neither of those items seem to be available in my Quicken tax category list....even under 'extended' line items.

BTW - a heads up on the whole Tuition thing.....

You might take a test run with TurboTax and see which of the several "deductions" gives you the most actual reduction in taxes paid, as there are several different deductions available, and TurboTax will auto calc which is best for you.

Also - for me - I never liked the way that TT imported the various amounts directly from Quicken - and do it all manually - so I have total control and understanding as to where the numbers come from.

Absolutely. I've in the past mentioned I don't use the TT import; I use the tax categories in Quicken so that I can product reports from Q during tax year simply to remind myself what I need to think about with TT; that's all.
