I was just reviewing some 529 accts and the related 1098-T forms. Wanted to leave myself a note for next year's filing, and was looking for somewhere within TT to create a little notepad...
Thought it would be a great/simple addition to TT, to just have a form called "personal notes", that would follow the "file" and be imported year to year.
FWIW, I have created a file I called 'TAXxxxx' (xxxx being the tax year) that has information tax related that I carry forward year to year, including all the W2s, W4s, 1099 etc. in terms of who they are from and did I receive them for the appropriate tax year. I keep items in there also related to dates I filed, and specific todos for the tax year (quarterlies and such). Once I 'close' a previous tax year, I copy and rename it for the next one. I keep information in this file for a period of 4 years behind as well for archival purposes. Sound similar to what you'd like to do within TT. Just a thought.
