Update Failed

I opened Quicken (2015) and got a notice that there was an update to release 4 available. I tried to download it and then I got this log file. As you can see, I have Release 1.

What is going on here???

and pick your Quicken year (2015)- click on the year - it will open a new window now look for the Mondo patch. Download this patch (remember where it was saved) After you download it and before you install it turn off your antivirus, disable firewall and close Quicken

Find your download and click it to install patch. Follow the instructions and let it install. Do not open Quicken when finished. I normally reboot the computer before opening Quicken after a patch is installed (personal preference).

After reboot makes sure you turn on antivirus and re-enable firewall.

Now open Quicken and see if it will open withour any errors.

By any chance, are you running the Canadian version of Q? The R4 patch is for the US version only.

Nothing says "Canada" or "US".

  1. It never showed errors when I opened it, neither before nor after the failed update.
  2. This will be interesting! My hard drive died and I replaced it with a cloned HD that is a few days old. I'll have to install 2015 on it and bring it up to date! I have a 2015-format QDF-backup file on my backup drive. How do I get the newly installed Q2015 to read it?

Thanks.
