I'm not sure how you determine what is exorbitant for tech support fees, but zero ought to be cheap enough to beat any criteria. There is no charge for conversion problems.

(Also, not everyone who converted to Q2007 had your problems.)

Let me add to John's remarks. In the past, certainly with upgrades before going to 2004, and thence to

2006, I have been very cautious with my data. Made many backups so I can go back to original data. "Validating" data before upgrading, using different file set names, so I could remember what's what. Maybe even supervalidating. Doing all these things with the machine freshly rebooted to prevent memory errors, especially when installing.

I have in years past outlined the precautions I deemed necessary about upgrading, so you should be able find that back in this newsgroup. Remeber, it's your data, you should take care of them, and all my paranoia may be just that, but do you want to run the risk of messing up your data?

I sure wish I had left well enough alone. What a mess Q2007 has been for me.
