1040-ES Questions

  1. Can I include my 2008 1040-ES Voucher #1 with my 2007 1040 tax return & payment? Or must I mail it separately?

  1. I have the 2008 1040-ES vouchers from TurboTax printed but I am going to pay a different amount. Can I just cross out the printed amount and write the amount I am paying? Or should I just print out the PDF from the IRS website?

Don't even THINK about doing this. IRS processors get confused very easily, so don't tempt fate.

Besides, notice the different mailing addresses.

Yes, just cross out the amount and carefully print your "contribution" to national debt in lieu thereof.

Doh! If I bothered to check I would have noticed that the mailing addresses are different!!!

Thanks all!

I fear that makes too much sense.

Yes.

In any case, consider moving to EFTPS to pay by the internet.
