Entering My Bank Account Data in TurboTax

I'm using TurboTax Deluxe for the first time.

I'm getting refunds from both Federal and state (MA) this year.

I want the refunds deposited into my checking account.

I was able to enter my bank routing and account numbers on the .pdf of the Federal return but haven't figured out how to do so (if possible) on the state return.

If I elect to efile the state return will TurboTax ask me for my bank account numbers during that process?

If I choose to file the state return by mail, will I have to enter my bank account data by hand on the form before mailing the return?

Thanks guys,

Jeff

Thanks for that info.

I'm using TT 2012 Deluxe.

I haven't "filed" anything yet. I'm waiting until the last minute to minimize the number of inevitable revised 1099s and K1s I get every year after I've filed. (Maybe I should use the "extension" trick to avoid having to file amended returns.)

I looked at the info worksheet via the "Print Center" and not unsurprisingly there's nothing at all in the blanks about receiving a state refund via deposit to my checking account, because I don't recall TT asking me anything at all about state refunds.

Should that information have been entered by me while I was preparing my returns? If so where?

Maybe the questions about how to distribute/receive my state tax overpayment will get asked when I start the efile process?

It's not part of the print request, it's a menu item within the forms view. I'm sure it would be part of the 'interview' process, but my return is done and the way I saw this was to open the return, go to forms, then choose info worksheet at bottom of MA Form list. Yes, TT Deluxe '12.

You're not supposed to enter any information in the PDF. You enter everything in either the interview or the forms. You should go through the "File" section of the interview, whether you are e-filing or filing by mail. When you select direct deposit for your federal refund, it will give you a place to enter the bank information. A couple of screens later it will ask you if you want your state refund deposited in the same account as your federal refund.

Yes.

No. The procedure for entering your bank information is the same, whether you e-file or file by mail.

Thanks, I'll wait 'till I'm sure I'm ready to file.
