Pay state taxes on stuff ordered for work on personal credit card

I live/work in Ohio. Am I liable for paying the state taxes on stuff I order and expense through work on my personal credit card? Or is my work responsible for paying the taxes. I placed $4000 order through Amazon and they do not charge state taxes so I do not want to expense it then get stuck with the tax bill. If I have to pay the taxes then I will just add the tax onto my expense report.

I assume you are talking about sales tax.

If you buy things for delivery or use in Ohio, sales tax is likely due.

Who pays the tax is up to your employer - if they reimburse you for the things you order, they will probably reimburse you for the sales taxes, too. But it is up to their policy whether or not they do - there is no law that requires it.

I'm pretty sure that "use tax" is the correct term:

Technically, here in California, the distinction is that use tax is due when something is purchased, usually from out of state, and no sales tax is charged. Sales tax is supposed to be collected by merchants in state. They compliment each other, because when sales tax isn't collected, use tax is due.
