Private Foundations, etc.

Can anyone recommend a good reference book on Private Foundations, CRTs, CLTs, etc. that is directed to the legal (possibly CPA) audience? Heavy on the mathematical examples would be a plus.

Don't worry - this is for early study, not to turn this into a "do it yourself" project.

Sorry I can't answer your question but it is good to know you don't plan to establish a private foundation between now and next Thursday. :)

Happy Holidays.

I'm not aware of any specific ones off the top of my head. Commerce Clearing House and BNI are the two large publishers that I'm aware of that publish tax related books for lawyers and accountants.

Also check out Nolo Press, at nolo.com. They publish legal do-it- yourself books, and generally do a pretty good job. They have at least one book on creating nonprofits, so they may have one that will serve your needs.

Don't you just love the thought of last minute tax planning?
