screwed up--do I have to file an ammended return

OK, I filed using TT. My return was accepted and I am awaiting my refund of about $9K Fed and $4K State ( I overwithheld !!)

For one of my 1099-DIVs, I used the wrong figures. Bottom line: I should actually be getting a larger refund, $23. more. My State refund should be $2. more.

Will this delay my refund?

Should I bother to file an amended return? If so, should I do this now or wait a bit.

What happens if I do nothing?

My preference is to do nothing (not worth the effort). My guess is that my refund will go through and with the refund or later they will send me the extra $25.

Your refund based on the filed return won't be held up since the IRS won't begin document matching until April or May. You aren't required to file an amended return. If you don't, the IRS and state computers may catch the difference when they run document matching later this year, or they may not.
