2$ Pound

Theres been publicity in the last couple of days about the exchange rate encouraging people to travel to the usa for "shopping trips" because they can save money. Do people really do this knowing the small allowance and bringing goods home and knowing that if they exceed it the excess will attract both import duty and vat? Even if they decide to take a chance and dont get caught at customs i would have thought they would to spend a heck of a lot just to cover the airfare and hotel. Or is it just nonsense put out by airlines to try and get more customers?

Generally it's just an excuse for a holiday.

I've been known to be pulled by a customs official lurking behind me as i waited by the baggage carousel. He followed me as i collected my bag and, just as i went through the green channell, i heard "excuse me Sir...." LOL !!!!!!
