3 months balance transfer

May 22, 2005 5 Replies

I currently have a Mogan Stanley credit card with a 1k balance. To keep my custom they gave a deal of 3.9% APR which is ending in June. I have been accepted for a Virgin credit card but I am now thinking the savings aren't really worth it. I will have the balance paid off in 3 months on my MS card and if I stick with MS (who I like) I will avoid the 2% balance transfer charge that Virgin want. I think MS's standard rate for a balance transfer is 15.9%. Could someone do the figures for me please.

TIA.

And when you've finished, could you make a start on my washing up?

I think my ironing takes precedence actually...

Why not take the Virgin 9 months interest free period with your £1k, keep the £1k in high interest savings for the 9 months and just pay the Virgin minimum payment, which'll probably be about £5 per month.

And with any interest you earn, pay an accountant to calculate your interest earned for you.
