Transfer overdraft to credit card

Nov 13, 2003 3 Replies

Hi folks

My cousin has a £3000 overdraft with the Abbey. I am sure I have read sommewhere of a credit card(s) that allowed overdrafts to be carried over to the credit card as a balance transfer at a lower interest rate than the overdraft.

The plan is to transfer the £3000 to the new credit card then subsequently transfer the debt to his Barclaycard that allows 0% balance transfers.

Any help and advice gratefully received.

Thanks

Steven

Juggling balances can save money. Just be aware that some low rates are only valid for six months and make sure the transfer takes place at the optimal time of the month for your particular card.

Thanks very much for your help.

Much appreciated.

My cousin already has an MBNA card so he's transferred his overdraft to MBNA and will thereafter move the debt to his new Barclaycard.
