Does anyone know if MBNA charge for making a balance transfer?

Don't have a copy to hand at this very moment, but ISTR that they reserve the right to tack on a 2% balance transfer fee, and that they will advise you if they plan to do so before they process the balance transfer request.

Guess this potentially spells the end to the "transfer to bank account and deposit in high interest account ploy" :(

Just had the same problem. I looked and it was not in their T&C's for overdraft transfers, it said they didn't charge for balance transfers during the introductory period. I decided not to risk an overdraft transfer with them but did do a balance transfer to another credit card which did allow overdraft transfers with no charge, so got around my transfer that way.

Yes, MBNA will know.

They don't charge within the 0% introductory period, but they do try to after that. They wanted to charge me £35 for a balance transfer a few weeks ago, but agreed to waive the fee after I requested them to do so. Everything is negotiable.
