Do Egg still allow 0% balance transfers to bank accounts?

Hi Folks,

My anniversary 0% balance transfer offer runs out at the end of month.

Does anyone know whether, in common with other CC companies, Egg now charge a balance transfer fee or treat a balance transfer to a current account as a cash advance?

Best Wishes,

My anniversary was last month, and I didn't get charged for the 0% balance transfer. One thing I noticed that has changed from last year is you can now only transfer up to 95% of your credit limit.

Thanks guys - It looks like I'm OK for the 0% balance transfer to bank a/c route without financial penalty. Let's continue to enjoy it while it lasts!

Same here, only 95% of limit and just transferred straight to my current account

Actually, you can transfer up to 99.75%: Apparently, the credit limit is

105% of the stated credit limit and you can BT 95% of that.

Thanks. I'll make a note of that for next year.

I would check first though. I called Egg this morning to ask about my anniversary month offer and was told that I could only transfer 95% of my stated credit limit. I would imagine anyone ignoring this might find themselves with penalty charges.

Good point. That sounds exactly like the kind of trick Egg would pull.

They told me I could transfer up to my full credit limit when they offered me a promotional rate of interest on balance transfers a few months ago. After I did what they had invited me to do, they added a small amount of interest on my next statement which immediately put me over my credit limit and they slapped a penalty charge onto the account.
